The process of filing an online protest with the Hood Central Appraisal District (HCAD) has changed for 2026. Please see below
HCAD would prefer that all property owners file their protest with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) online through HCAD’s website instead of visiting our office or mailing in a protest.
Once the Notice of Appraised Values (appraisal notices) are mailed, the link to file an online protest will be enabled.
